Weekend review: Love you long time

I feel like I’ve been a little quiet here on the blog, but that’s not indicative of real life as the past few weeks have been non-stop. Non-stop fun, celebrations, work, studying, to-do’s, etc. You name it, it probably happened. And while this weekend wasn’t really any different, I did want to at least take the time to reflect and share this past weekend’s happiness.

This past Saturday kicked off what I assume will be a whirlwind of wedding festivities this summer. I’m only going to 2 weddings, but it just so happens that I’m in BOTH! Aside from Bridesmaid dress shopping which has had it’s up and downs, there are also the bridal showers. You may groan at the thought of them, but this one was surprisingly different as it was held outside at Gambrill State Park.

This was our view from the picnic/grill area:

Pretty sweet, eh? And the daily activities and games consisted of cornhole tournaments:

But what’s a bridal shower without a little gift opening and some oooh/aaahs?

I couldn’t be happier for this couple. I originally knew Mesha (on the left) when we played gaelic football together, but it’s been a real treat to become friends with her fiance, Sam, too. They’re just one of those couples that make you see the good in life, even when you know they both haven’t always had it easy. So this summer, I’ll gladly stand by Mesha as she and Sam tie the knot.
