Weekend review: Atlantic City

Last Sunday, 2 of my friends texted to ask if I was up for a girly weekend. We anticipated a somewhat standard night out, but on Tuesday I opened an email from the girls that suggested otherwise…we were headed to Atlantic City.

I don’t honestly know what to make or think of Atlantic City, except that I walked away with everything I anticipated: a new magnet for the fridge, a hangover that lasted twice as long as the night, and a few good photos of a brilliant night out with the girls.

It was my first time in AC and if you’ve been, I’m sure you understand why I don’t know what to make of the place. All in all – an A+ weekend!

From top to bottom, left to right:

  • View of the boardwalk as we headed down to the beach for a few hours.
  • Twisted Tea & Corona’s at Trump’s Beach Bar
  • Myself, Katie, and Missy at Harrah’s The Pool After Dark

Heh. I haven’t been to AC in about 10 years, probably. It’s changed a lot since then, I’m sure. I used to live about 30 min from AC so every once in a while we’d go, and occasionally I’d hit the thrift stores during the day. But one can only take so much AC. I think 2x/year was enough for me for the casinos. Other than that a couple dive bars were okay. Not sure how I’d feel about it now, probably about the same or likely even less tolerant due to my advancing age and reclusiveness! 🙂 Glad you had fun. Not DC but you knocked off another regional place to see!

one of my roommates said her family used to vacay there as well and i just couldn’t imagine it. granted – i’ve never been to vegas (yet!) and i’ve never been to or watched anything jersey shore…so I didn’t know what to expect. it was just a weird combo of trash and then all of a sudden fancy. day was soooo different to night. i must have walked around with my mouth wide open at some of the animals in the zoo. now you know why i was so on the fence about it – i tried to write that in the post, but couldn’t really get the words out. but yes, definitely had a fun, hilarious, and random evening and glad i got to visit. i really feel like this year is coming along nicely in fitting in all i wanted to do! and i’m slightly less scared of an impending zombie party in december 😀
