Garden and…Gun?

I’m a deal whore. There’s no better way to describe it. If your site offers deals, I subscribe.

One of my latest obsessions is magazines. I never saw the value in spending $40+ a year for a pile of glued paper. But, with all these deals flying about, I do see the value in spending a $1 or less per issue. So I’ve been buying them up left and right, sometimes spending as little as $5 or $6 for a year of entertainment. Steal!

Today’s magazine deal intrigued me. Enough to share with you, but not enough to buy. It’s for a magazine called Garden & Gun. The preview picture would suggests it’s a Southern Living style mag.

The deal site then highlights the features of the magazine:

  • A rich celebration of the Southern lifestyle at its best
  • Explores music, cuisine, arts, literature, and the sporting life
  • Engaging content for women and men

But based on that, I still don’t really understand where ‘Gun’ comes into play, other than shooting rabbits in your garden. So I had a peak at their online site and ‘Gun’ does in fact refer to everything you think it does – shootin’, huntin’, sportin’, etc-in’. So, I suppose if you’re a true Southerner, born and bred, this is the perfect combination of valuable information for you.You know, to help balance out all your gun stuff, you get a bit of garden stuff. Helps class up the magazine a bit.

Bonus alert: if you live in Virginia, you’re in extra luck with the legislation that just passed that permits gun-lovers to buy more than 1 gun in any given month. So really, for any VA readers, it should be Garden & Guns.
